How to register using the Cowin portal or aarogya setu app?


The central government has confirmed that the Covid-19 vaccination program for citizens aged 18 years and above will begins on April 28, 2021. Above 18 years of age will be able to get vaccinated from 1 May 2021.


The registrations will start on the Cowin platform and aarogya setu app from 28 April 2021 onwards.


How to register through Aarogya Setu App -


1) Open the aarogya Setu app then click on the COWIN tab on the home screen.


2) Then select 'vaccination registration' and then enter the phone number. You will receive an OTP and then you can proceed to verify yourself.

 

3) Then click on the 'register for vaccination' page, enter all details, and also your ID proof, name, gender and DOB. Then click on 'register'.


4)After you register, you will get an option to schedule your appointment. Then click on schedule next to the name of the person registered.


5)Then add your Pincode and click on search. The centres in the added Pincode will appear to you.

 

6) Select the date and time and click on 'confirm'.



How to register through COWIN Portal:

1) Type cowin.gov.in or COWIN on the google search box. Then click on register/sign in yourself.


2)Add your phone number and click on get OTP. After receiving the OTP, type OTP on the site and click on 'verify'. 


3) Then Enter all your details, including photo ID name, gender, etc, on the register for vaccination page then click on the 'register' tab.


4) After you register, you will get the option to schedule an appointment click on 'schedule' which is next to the name of the person registered.


5) Then add your Pincode and click on search. The centres in the added Pincode will display to you. 


6)Select date and time, then click on the 'confirm' tab. 

It is important to note that you can easily reschedule an appointment.



Now also those who don't understand how to register by themselves can go to their nearest covid-19 vaccination centre and they can do an offline registration with the help of a vaccination centre.


How Effective is Covishield Vaccine?


The oxford - Astra Zeneca vaccine is being manufactured by The Serum Institute of India, it is the world's largest vaccine manufacturer based in India. The Serum Institute of India says they are producing more than 60 million doses a month. When the vaccine is injected into a patient it prompts the immune system to start making antibodies to attack any Coronavirus infection. International clinical trials of the Oxford-Astra Zeneca vaccine showed that when both doses are given effectiveness hits 90%, but there was no clear data to approve the half-dose, full dose idea.



How effective is the Covaxin vaccine?

 

The vaccine is developed by Bharat biotech in collaboration with the Indian council of medical research (ICMR) and the national institute of Virology (NIV), Pune. Covaxin has shown a high level of antibody response in a mid-stage of trial. The Company said it had shown up to 81%  efficacy in preventing COVID-19, preliminary data from its phase 3 trial shows. Bharat Biotech the company which is making Covaxin in India says, it has a stockpile of 20 million doses of Covaxin and aiming to make 700 million doses by the end of the year.
